Giving back to the Community – Cancer Research

Here at Versatile Granny Flats we are proud to support leading cancer research charity, The Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF).

1.-ACRF_logo_vertical_Aqua3-300x206As a family we have watched loved one’s struggle to battle cancer and have suffered the loss of loved one’s over the years. This is why
research into a cure for a variety of different cancer’s is very important to us.

We know that most people, if they haven’t suffered some form of cancer themselves, they have known someone that has or still is battling this terrible disease. We decided to do what we could to help those that are trying to find a cure. So we have decided to make donations to The Australian Cancer Research Foundation each time we sell a building.

By donating $100 each time we mobilise a project, we hope to make a difference to people’s lives.

Our Client’s are given the choice of either having the donation made in their name or in the name of a loved-one that they have lost. A message is then sent to them via ACRF, to acknowledge their contribution.

The ACRF is committed to funding world-class cancer research that has the power to defeat cancer. Money received by the ACRF goes towards discovering the treatments and cures for this terrible disease.VersatileGrannyFlatsCancerResearchFoundation2

Since its inception in 1984, the ACRF has funded $86.5 million in cutting-edge research projects right across the country, with 70% of this total awarded in just the last seven years. These funds provide state-of-the-art technology and facilities which dramatically speed up the discovery process in our fight against cancer.

ACRF grants are awarded based on the recommendations of a committee of leading Australian scientists, including Professor Ian Frazer, co-creator of the cervical cancer vaccine and Australian of the Year in 2006.

The ACRF receives no government funding and is always grateful for the support of Australian companies, community groups and individuals.
